Linked Dept: SEN
I am a teacher who has spent his whole career working in Special Education. For the last 13 years I have been a Headteacher at two schools that have moved from OFSTED Good to Outstanding. I have been the Headteacher at Freemantles School in Woking, a school for children and young people with Complex Autism, for the last 8 years. We also run a Primary Outreach Service across the West of Surrey.
What I bring to the Governing Body:
I am a community Governor at FHES and unsurprisingly I bring a lot of knowledge and experience of SEN education with a specific expertise in Autism, therefore I am on the curriculum committee as well as the Full Governing Body. I also have a full understanding of the various aspects of school leadership and change management. I have been able to host visits for Senior leaders from FHES at my school as well as inform myself of what happens during the day through visits to the school.
Although I am a Community Governor, my wife and I have three children, the two eldest have been successfully through FHES and my third has just started here.
I am a vegetarian and our family have quite a range of pets including a dog, cat, tortoise and chickens. I enjoy walking in the countryside and holidays / travelling.
I support Liverpool Football Club and follow as many games as I can!
