Duke of Edinburgh Awards
Farnham Heath End School is a Licensed Organisation which allows us to deliver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) programmes to students in Year 9 and 10.
The concept of the DofE is simple – anyone between 14 and 24 can do a programme at one of three progressive levels, which when successfully completed lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.
There are so many rewards for young people who do DofE programmes and achieve an award. It’s balanced programme of activities develops the whole person, mind, body and soul in an environment of social interaction and team working.
There are 4 sections at Bronze and Silver – and these are carried out usually weekly over a 3-6 month period. They are Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition.
The DofE is non-competitive, it’s a personal challenge and is achievable by any young person who chooses to take up its challenge, regardless of ability, gender, background or location
