Back to Our Team

Background:

I was born in the north in the seaside resort of Redcar. My Father served in the Armed Forces until he retired. One of his postings was Aldershot, a place my parents decided to settle and call home.

I have worked at Farnham Heath End school for nearly 20 years and, during this time, my roles have been very varied. My current position is Safeguard Lead and Assistant Year Lead.

Living locally, I feel I have a good knowledge and understanding of the needs of the local community. For a number of years I was involved in organising the school Leavers’ Ball. I count this as a  great privilege as being part of a team that celebrates the wonderful success of our students is one of the most rewarding things I take away from my job.

What I bring to the Governing Body:

Many years of experience working at Farnham Heath End school. Knowing the school ethos and knowledge of our students and their needs. Being part of a team that commits to ensuring our students have the best opportunities available to them.

I was Clerk to the Governing body a number of years ago, so I am aware of what the position demands. I am also a Trustee for the Bishop Sumner Trust.

Other Interests:

I have five children and thirteen grandchildren so my ‘other interests’ are pretty much covered here.  I am very passionate about my garden and will spend as much time as I can tending to it in all weathers, even though my ‘other interests’ do like to pull the heads off my flowers and dig holes!
