About Us

Curriculum

At Farnham Heath End School, we offer a traditional curriculum which, we believe, is delivered in an innovative and creative way.

Our broad, balanced curriculum at Key Stage 3 is staffed by a highly qualified specialist team of teachers and includes : English, Maths, Science, French and German, Geography, History, Religious Education, ICT and Computing, Art, Music, Drama, Design Technology and Physical Education. In addition, students in Year 7 also develop skills in areas such as thinking, teamwork, managing information, organisation and citizenship through our Opening Minds curriculum.

At Key Stage 4, students continue to study English and English Literature, Maths, Science (as separate sciences - Biology, Chemistry and Physics - or as Core and Additional Science), Religious Education and Physical Education. In addition, they choose four other subjects to make up their personal curriculum.

We take pride in the fact that the majority of our students choose to continue with their studies at college and later at university.

The curriculum is delivered over a two-week cycle, through 50 one-hour lessons. Two sessions of each day, totaling 30 minutes, are spent with the student’s tutor, who will check and support progress and be part of their regular assemblies.

Students are expected to be in school by 8.35am ready for morning registration. The end of the formal school day is at 3.10pm and enrichment activities start at this time.

Curriculum booklets are produced at the start of each year and are specific to each year group.  They can be downloaded here:

Homework will be either a series of shorter tasks or one longer tasks totalling the time a student should spend on homework for that subject. We encourage students to do the homework on the night that is set. Homework will be detailed on firefly with a clear time of how long a student should spend on that particualr task.
